For anybody with health issues, particularly those with arthritic or back pain, and even those with joint pain in the legs and knees, they can benefit hugely from a riser recliner. These wonderful contraptions differ from normal recliners in that their base lifts and the angle of the seat changes in order to allow the user to get into the chair more easily. The seat will actually push you back out of the chair very gradually as well, so it is as easy to get out of the chair as it is to get into it!
These seats generally come in two different types, and differ in that one has a single motor, and the other type has a dual motor. The difference between these two types of chair is that the dual motor riser recliners have two separate motors. One of the motors operates the tilt of the recliner in the normal manner, and the other operates the angle of the base of the seat, meaning that there is a little more flexibility with the dual motor models. The single motor models have one motor which moves both the angle of the chair and the angle of the base of the chair at the same time, which just means that when the chair has returned to its normal upright position the chair continues past this point in order to allow the user to leave the chair easily.
Of course the benefit to these users is not just the ability to get in and out of the chair itself – once you are in, you won’t want to get out! The recliner will give the user a far better seating position with more support and the benefits will last for as long as they use the chair.
